Inaugurated in December 2018 by Plan Ceibal, the Biblioteca País offers more than 8,000 educational and didactic contents.

The Biblioteca País – Plan Ceibal, a platform that can be accessed from any device in its web version or through the download of the mobile phone application, aims to democratise access to culture and knowledge for the Uruguayan population.

Inaugurated at the end of 2018 in the framework of the Ceibal Plan, the platform allows access to all functionalities through a registration that will provide a username and password.

In addition to students and teachers from the National Public Education Administration (ANEP) and private educational centres with access to Plan Ceibal platforms, beneficiaries of Plan Ibirapitá are already registered users of the repository. To register, click here

The Biblioteca País currently has more than 8,000 contents, including books, audio books, didactic cards, sound recordings, educational videos and digitisations of works of art, among others. Through the catalogue, users can borrow the content they wish to access online or download it to their personal device. Access the content catalogue here

According to data provided by the Presidency, at the end of its first year, 122,522 users accessed 6,407 contents, of which 412,499 included loans.

The suspension of face-to-face attendance due to the Covid-19 pandemic during this year influenced the increase in the use of digital tools, which resulted in approximately 420,000 students connected per day.

In an interview with Subrayado, Canal 10’s news programme, the president of Plan Ceibal, Leandro Folgar, indicated that these figures show 25% more connections than in 2020.
