He was selected from over 4,000 people around the world, along with 79 other people, to attend Singularity University.  His goal: to have a positive impact on a billion people.

Maximiliano Perez, 32, from Cerro Chato, Paysandu, departs today for the mecca of entrepreneurs and technological innovation – Silicon Valley. There he will face one of the greatest challenges of his life. He was selected from 4,000 leaders in different areas of knowledge from around the world to join, together with other 79 prominent entrepreneurs, the NASA Graduate Studies Program at Singularity University (among other prominent founding institutions).

For this to happen in the first place, Maxi had to prove he was capable of being admitted at the prestigious institution that aims to «educate, inspire and empower leaders to implement exponential technologies to address the great challenges of humanity».

Secondly, he had to convince them to pay the $ 25,000 tuition cost of the ten-week program.

He overcame both challenges. And if all goes well, once this is over he will be sponsored by Silicon Valley’s major companies to work on a project that will have a positive impact on at least one billion people in a period of ten years.
