European countries dominated consultations regarding investments in Uruguay in the month of April. That region accounted for 44% of the inquiries received. Spain is the main source of queries.
The information emerges from the April investment consultations report of Uruguay XXI. A significant interest from Argentina and Brazil has been observed.
Queries originating from these two neighbors represented 19% of the total. Nevertheless, when analyzed by region, Europe holds the lead with a total of 44% of the enquiries. Among these countries, Spain is the main source of queries with 25%, followed by Sweden with 16%.Mercosur is the second region with most consultations, with 38% of the total, and further back is Asia, with 11%. When analyzed by sectors, construction and infrastructure accounted for 25% of the consultations, displacing industry from the first position, which in April received 21% of the queries. The energy sector accounted for the same percentage.
14% of potential investors were interested in the logistics industry, and 4% in agribusiness.
