Montevideo was the location chosen for a Star Wars video game advertisement campaign, where Jedi and Sith can be seen running around Montevideo. It sounds impossible, but the latest advertisement for the Star Wars: The Old Republic video game shows the opposite.

The advertisement, which has been uploaded to the social networks, shows different locations in the Uruguayan capital as a set for a battle between ordinary citizens fighting both for The Force and the Dark Side.

Clashes with lightsabers in Plaza Independencia, Jedis levitating objects in the Old City and Republican troopers exchanging fire at Montevideo’s port, can be seen in the one and a half minute advertisement.

With an amazing display of special effects, the advertisement shows realistically that Uruguay could well have been another set for Star Wars.

The short film was made by La Productora Films under the supervision of US-based producers MJZ hired by the EA Games video games company and Lucas Films.
