Last Saturday, the US news portal Huffington Post, one of the most widely read in the world, issued a note on President José Mujica under the title “10 Things We Can All Learn From Uruguay’s Weed-Legalizing President”.
The article, published in Latino Voices section, describes Mujica as the president who caught international attention when he was dubbed the «world’s poorest president» and remarks that he donates 90% of his salary, lives on his farm and has a three-legged dog.
It further assures he gained international spotlight by creating the first «national marketplace for legal marijuana», which derived in Uruguay being named country of the year for 2013 by the prestigious British magazine, The Economist.
